Topic: RISING ABOVE THE STORM

sl-2

Overview

SCRIPTURE: But the ship was now in the midst of the sea, tossed with waves: for the wind was contrary. And in the fourth watch of the night Jesus went unto them, walking on the sea. – Matthew 14:24-25.
THOUGHT FOR THE DAY: For as long as you set your gaze on Jesus, you are not permitted to sink.
A storm is defined as a violent disturbance of the atmosphere with strong winds and usually rain, thunder, lightning, or snow.
Storms usually constitute hindrance. The journey that should have taken about 30 minutes, took Jesus’ disciples about 9 hours because of a storm. But interestingly, the same storm that troubled them was what Jesus walked on.
The truth is, the disciples were not travelling on their personal assignment; they were on the journey by the instruction of the Master, yet, they faced opposition. You see, moving in the right direction does not eliminate opposition. Doing the will of God or living in the plan of God does not mean that the enemy will not confront you. And the storm you confront is not necessarily because of the sins you committed.
Beloved, for as long as you are headed in the right direction, you will face contrary wind. But do not be afraid; if God is on your side, there is nothing you cannot survive. All you need to do is to keep looking unto the Master. As long as you set your gaze on Him, you are not permitted to sink.
No storm of life shall swallow you in Jesus’ Name.
Remember this: For as long as you set your gaze on him, you are not permitted to sink.
ASSIGNMENT(S):
1. Never allow any storm or situation of life make you give up on God.
2. In times of trials, contradictions and confrontations, ensure that you never lose sight of the Master.
