Dunamis Seed of Destiny Monday, 30 May 2016 : FACTS ON PRAYING EFFECTIVELY

TOPIC: FACTS ON PRAYING EFFECTIVELY

SCRIPTURE: ...The effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much. – James 5:16b

THOUGHT FOR THE DAY: If God does not know your voice in the secret, He may not respond to your call in the open.

It is God’s desire for us to pray effectively. However, many people pray without tangible results at the place of prayer.
This is because the prayer was not done effectively. It is one thing to pray but another thing entirely to pray effectively.
Today, I want to share two facts that will enhance effective praying:

1. If God does not know your voice in the secret, He may not respond to your call in the open.
There are many people calling upon God in the open but not many receive any response. Somebody who is in the midst of danger may be shouting, “Jesus!” but Jesus is not a magical name that can be invoked. If God does not know your voice in the secret, He may not respond to your call in the open. To pray effectively, you need to pray in the secret from every external distraction.

2. Prayer is an avenue for the establishment of relationship with God.
Some people only pray when they have issues: “Oh, they are oppressing me in the office, so I need urgent intervention.”  So, effective praying is praying, not because there is a problem but praying to relate with God.

Remember this: If God does not know your voice in the secret, He may not respond to your call in the open.

ASSIGNMENT(S):
1. Endeavour to maintain a constant relationship with God.
2. Ask God for fresh burden and passion for His Presence.

PRAYER: O LORD, I ask for the baptism of fresh burden and passion for prayer. Help me O LORD to pray without ceasing, in Jesus’ Name.
